Is your bulletin board looking a little shabby?
Here is a
DIY tutorial for you on how to upgrade your drab bulletin board.
Things you will need :
Bulletin Board
House paint (or spray paint)
Paint Brush
Chalk Board Paint
Fabric
Scissors
Stapler
I bought my bulletin board at a thrift store for $1- so if you don't already have one try and find a steal!
First I took the frame apart at one corner so I could take out the
cork board and, soon to be, chalk board sections. Then I painted the frame with a
desirable color to go with my walls.
Next you will want to paint the section with your Chalk Board paint.
Let dry according to the product directions.
While those are drying, it is time to give the cork board section a face lift!
You will want to cut your fabric just a little larger than the cork board so there is enough to wrap around.
Lay the board in the center of the cut fabric then start folding the fabric around, stapling it in place to the backside as you go. Tip: use a fairly thin fabric so the staples will go through easily.
Once all the paint is dry on the frame and the chalkboard, it is time to reassemble! The cork board section may be a little bit more snug in the frame due to the added fabric, and that is okay; if the frame isn’t quite flush just lightly tap on the frame with a hammer and that should fix the issue.
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY project and I can't wait to see your upgraded bulletin boards!
